As a woman in my 40's, changing careers can be a bit of a gamble but putting that aside, I think it's imperative in today's world to do what a person enjoys. I decided to attend Full Sail University to earn a Bachelor's in Entertainment Business Management. I can honestly say I made the right choice and I am more eager to learn this time around then in my 20's.
Dear Janice:
ReplyDeleteIn today’s world, majority of companies won’t even consider to hire someone without at least an associate’s degree. I honestly believe that in order to succeed in the entertainment industry, Bachelor of Science degree is necessary. Full Sail is without a doubt, one of the best universities to pursue higher education in the entertainment field. I really enjoy creative hands-on learning and the opportunity to learn the latest technology trends quickly. In a reasonably short amount of time, you’ll earn your degree and your hard work is going to pay off.
All the best,
Renee
Though I am in my 20's, I commend you for your pursuit of a degree in your 40's. I feel similar in that I find myself more focused as a 25 year old than I did when I was 18 or 19. I hope you are following your passion and continue in your pursuit of your dreams. It certainly isn't easy trying to balance life and school. It seems that our lifestyle allows for college at a young age and it is difficult to get back into the rhythm of schooling. But I agree with Renee, a degree seems to be necessary it todays society. You are much better off with it than without it.

Renee,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that a degree is needed. An Associate's Degree used to be sufficient in getting a person a decent waged job but as time has progressed, I believe that most companies now look for a Bachelor's. So along with experience, education, and creativity, a person can go farther, I truly believe this and I thank you for your comment. Sorry it took me a while to respond, been battling a cold that turned into pneumonia. I am much better today, however.
Janice
Hello Lacey,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words. The decision to go back to school was an easy one, remaining in school has been difficult but very rewarding. There are days when I feel drained and not in the mood but then I push myself to succeed. One of the many reasons why I love school, the many challenges. Thank you again and sorry for the delay in responding, as I had posted to Renee, I've been under the weather.
Janice
